New Work by Alexandrya Eaton and Werner Arnold

Fog Forest Gallery was pleased to host this very successful exhibition which featured the work of two well respected New Brunswick artists - Alexandrya Eaton and Werner Arnold. Their work shared a love of colour and texture and together was a very exciting exhibition.

Werner Arnold was born in the Zurich area of Switzerland and immigrated to Canada when he was 22 years old. An accomplished wood sculptor, he has exhibited his work in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Switzerland over the past 40 years.

He is widely recognized for his unique and original style of modernist sculpture featuring colourful, intricate images and for his technical virtuosity. He has explored various themes in his work; masks and carnivals, the circus and animal worlds, mythology and medieval imagery, always striving for both visual and aesthetic balance and humour.

Mr. Arnold's work can be found in private collections, public spaces and professional offices. He has participated in both solo and group exhibitions throughout North America and Europe. He currently lives and works in New Brunswick.

Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, Alexandrya Eaton received her BFA from Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B., in 1991. Throughout her career, Alexandrya has had more than twenty-five solo exhibitions of her work. Her paintings hang in numerous collections, both private and public, across Canada, the United States, Europe, Bermuda and Jamaica. She has received many project grants, such as support in 2009 by artsnb, to continue the development of her work. In 2000, she accepted the invitation to take part in the studio residency programme at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, in Fredericton, which coincided with the Atlantic Art Exhibition, “Artist in a Floating World”, curated by Tom Smart.

Alexandrya Eaton’s paintings can be found in many collections such as the New Brunswick Art Bank, RBC Dominion Securities, Purdy’s Wharf Developments, New Brunswick Power Commission, Atlantic Lotto Corporation, L’Universite de Moncton, Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Aliant Telecom, Masterworks Foundation in Bermuda, Nesbitt Burns and the UNB Art Centre as well as many private collections.

Ms. Eaton continues to live and work in New Brunswick.
