Sarah
Quintin
Originally
from Kingston, Ontario, Sarah Quintin moved to Sackville to attend
Mount Allison University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
1992 with distinction. Although her artistic expression has matured as
a painter, she has developed a love for the medium of papier-mâché.
Sarah has a playful and imaginative spirit. She has created characters
in papier-mâché that have sparked the enthusiasm of an appreciative
audience. Papier-mâché allows me to combine my interest
in relief and colour. The endless possibilities of working in papier-mâché
allow me the freedom to create whimsical, folksy and fun objects that
can also be functional. In my work I strive to create unique and energetic
work that will have a wide appeal and reference the world around me. The
highs and lows of life are reflected in my work as I strive for positive
and reaffirming values.
Sarah Quintin's papier-mâché sculpture has been
the featured work on the Sackville Arts Weekend poster - July 1997, and
the New Brunswick Tourism Guide 2001. She is a regular contributor to
exhibitions hosted by Fog Forest Gallery. Her works are found in private
collections throughout Canada, United States and Bermuda.
