John Amos John Amos watercolour paintings are portraits of a landscape. Raised in Dorchester and educated in Sackville, New Brunswick he has a close relationship with the landscape of the Tantramar marshes and the Bay of Fundy. His paintings capture the subtle colourings of the seasons and tides and those large skies which yield sudden atmospheric changes. Influenced by his teacher, Ted Pulford, John studied Fine Art at Mount Allison University in the early 1970s. His work has been featured in many exhibitions. His love of house building and architecture has influenced his painting. An exhibition of paintings featuring the historical village of Kings Landing was produced during the 1980s and recent exhibitions include Trinity Galleries in Saint John and the HL Turner Group in Concord, New Hampshire. Johns works are found in the collections of the University of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Museum, Ocean Steel, N B Tel, Maritime Tel & Tel and Conners Brothers in Blacks Harbour. For the past twenty years, John spends much of his time in New Hampshire but continues to visit the headlands of the Bay of Fundy to paint.
