Nick Chase

Nick Chase, a native of Sackville, New Brunswick, is currently a 3rd year student in the Hot Glass Forming programme at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Graduating in the spring of 2007, Nick is enthusiastic and looking forward to an active participation in the Canadian and International glass communities.

Prior to studying glass, Nick studied animation at The DeVinci Institute in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His design work has been commissioned by academic groups at Mount Allison University in Sackville and the University of Toronto. Having been previously employed creating designs for stained glass windows and doors at Hollywood Doors in Thornhill, Ontario, Nick has also volunteered his design work to the Canadian Cancer Society.

At present, Nick is focusing mainly on sandblasting blown forms and flameworking. His pieces have been showcased at Materials Matters, a gallery focused on Canadian glass artists and at the 2006 Sheridan Grad Show at The Sandra Ainsley Gallery in the Distillery District of Toronto, an area known as an artists' haven. Several exhibitions, primarily The 2006 Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition have been keeping this emerging artist busy. Fog Forest Gallery is pleased to welcome this promising and talent young artist into the gallery collection.
