David Gillespie
David Gillespie
is a Canadian artist whose handmade, original works range from high realism
in the form of landscapes and architecture, to vibrant and inspiring abstracts.
Much of this artistic expression he refined while living in Nova Scotia,
where keen observation and a love of the natural environment influenced
his vision.
Originally trained in art restoration and conservation, David worked as
a technician at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto before moving to Nova
Scotia where he began his work as an artist. Since returning to his native
Ontario in 1986, David has mounted solo and group exhibitions in both
Ontario and the Maritimes. While he has worked extensively in oil and
acrylic painting, he continues to favour serigraphy as his artistic medium.
