Peter Manchester

Peter Manchester is a painter/writer/illustrator/inventor living in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. There was a time when self-definition was simple for him. Then the book he wrote and illustrated “50 Things to Make with a Broken Hockey Stick” (Goose Lane Editions). Things have never been the same...

He was born in Winsted, Connecticut in 1952. As a child of missionaries he lived in many places with his family. He called Texas, West Hartford, Conn., Brussels, Belgium, Congo/Zaire, Hamden Conn., New Rochelle, N.Y., Bellmore N.Y. his home. He went to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico and stayed in the Southwest U.S. For over 25 years. While there he worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, videographer and museum curator. He moved to New Brunswick, Canada in 1992 with his family.

Currently his time is spent working on paintings, illustrations, graphic design, writing and of course broken hockey media. A new book “Fabulous Fabrications from Broken Hockey Gear”(Goose Lane Editions) that Peter wrote and illustrated. Peter's work is found on most continents in public and private collections.
